Celebrating 47 years of Management

Property management is a fast-changing world and whilst everyone accepts nothing ever stays the same, the industry is now under minute scrutiny. We are proud to be a long-established managing agent, with an exemplary track record, and our journey with our oldest client, Manchester Unity Housing Association and their building and the hundreds of tenants who have lived there over the years, began almost half a century ago.

Red Rose Lodge was constructed as sheltered accommodation for the active elderly with the objective of providing safe, secure, affordable rented homes for the over 60’s. The building comprises of 51 self-contained one-bedroomed flats, in its own secure grounds, with car parking. Situated in a pleasant suburb of Blackpool, Red Rose Lodge is close to local shops, amenities and transport, with the seafront and town centre only 2 miles away. It provides individuals and couples with the opportunity to continue to live independently, but with the additional benefit of round-the-clock support.

The planning and budgeting from day one means that even though we are so far into the life of the building, prudent decisions, efficient management and some very hard work, mean that we are able to see a bright future for Red Rose Lodge, its occupiers and its owners. However, this doesn’t tell the whole story. It isn’t just about the tenancies and the landlord/tenant/manager relationship, it is about a community where there are parties for tenants for landmark birthdays and an annual residents party in February each year hosted by the Committee of the Manchester Unity Housing Association Limited. There’s a residents committee arranging social events; coffee mornings once a week; and once a month, a free quiz afternoon is hosted by our very own staff. There are two lovely lounge areas where residents can come together to chat and forge new friendships. In the summer months, the well-tended gardens are a delight to sit in to soak up the sun and there is even a guest room, within the building, where family can stay when they are visiting, for a small charge. All this together with a well-equipped laundry room and ample parking for you and your guests, make Red Road Lodge an ideal choice.

None of this would have been achieved without the landlord’s blend of prudence, caring and social conscience and Homestead are immensely proud to have worked so closely with them, advising and managing the building, through every step of this process, over the last 47 years.
